Description

The goldsmith's art in Jesi has its roots in an ancient past. Although its history has seen alternating periods of glory and major crises, it still proudly survives to this day, enriching the town centre with workshops of great value, true jewels steeped in tradition.

The goldsmiths‘ workshops were located along today's Via Pergolesi - also known as Via degli Orefici (Goldsmiths’ Street) -, Vicolo Fiorenzuola, the alleys around the Cathedral and Corso Matteotti. Several craftsmen still work in Jesi today, and the town's Liceo Artistico (Art high school) ‘E. Mannucci’ includes, among its specialisations, a course in goldsmith's art.

This initiative stems from the desire to make a little-known part of Jesi's history known to the general public.
